Hi everyone! My name is Sarah. 8 years ago I was diagnosed with IBS and other health conditions ranging from migraines, heartburn, gastritis, allergies, and food sensitivities. My symptoms were at worst 2 years ago and they really affected my personal and professional life. I became depressed and lacked energy to even get on with the day.
My journey through transformation
Despite the pains, uncomfortable bloats, and uncountable visits to doctors, I stayed strong and fought to live a normal life. I felt I was a burden when eating out with my friends and family because there were only a few chain restaurants I could eat and those were not really their favourite choices.
I was also a fitness fanatic and obsessed with weight loss. A year ago I did High Intensive Interval Training (HIIT). HIIT is believed to help burn more calories in a shorter period of time. My health gradually improved, yet I felt I was depleted—the more I worked out, the more I felt exhausted. While I worked out almost every day, I dropped zero pounds.
For years, I used trial and error method, combined with a lot of supplements claimed to bring back vitality and improve the health conditions. Some of those worked but ultimately I didn’t want to rely on those for the rest of my life. I stopped going to a doctor’s office and I made up my mind that I would do everything I could to be able to enjoy eating again.
Intuitive but realistic
I am very intuitive and I knew that there must have been something wrong in my body. Using my gut feelings to direct and address my health problems was obviously not enough. I didn’t know how to start but I just felt something amazing was on its way.
After many hours spent doing research online, I have learned that it is all to do with hormones and to lose body fat, it is not just simple as ‘calories in and calories out.’ No matter how much you try to lose weight and be on caloric deficit, it will never work if you don’t learn to know and understand your body and hormones. For me, light exercise such as walking and yoga helped me get in shape better than HIIT, running, or vigorous workouts. Once I switched to doing yoga and light walking, I gradually started to lose body fat and get in shape again.
Stress also plays a critical role in your health. Once you remove stress from your life, quit the job you hate, remove toxic environment or people from your life (or just try to ignore them and focus on the positive aspects), you’ll feel that your health improves tremendously in a way that was never possible!
